The Kolen'ko Research Group is led by Tenured Group Leader Dr. Yury V. Kolen'ko. Our team brings together materials chemists, research scientists, engineers, and students to design, synthesize, and understand functional nanomaterials for sustainable energy and chemical processes.

Yury V. Kolen’ko

Group Leader

Yury is a materials chemist who designs and synthesizes functional nanomaterials. His research has shown how controlling their composition and nanostructure can direct material properties and function. Ultimately, he aims to create materials with predictable behavior for sustainable energy and chemical processes.

Juliana Sousa

Research Scientist - PI

Juliana has experience in several scientific fields; synthesis and functionalization of inorganic materials, catalysis and coatings.

Mouli Thalluri

Research Scientist

Mouli works on development of supported electrocatalysts employing wet and vacuum based tools for their applications mainly focussed on Hydrogen energy sector.

Laura M. Salonen

Associate Research Scientist

Laura employs organic chemistry methods for the development of innovative nanomaterials for water treatment and catalysis.
